Smart Rebalancing is an optional Family-license feature. It never changes the plan until the primary adult reviews and applies selected moves.

Choose the family settings

Open Courses from the main navigation, then find Smart Rebalancing below the course list. The feature, overloaded-day visual indicator, and inclusion of timed routines and activities all default on. Turning the main setting off hides alerts and proposals without deleting earlier settings or dismissals. Without an active Family License, the controls remain visible but disabled with a License required notice.

The main switch controls alerts and proposals; the nested switches control the coral day indicator and timed family-item totals.

Respond to a warning

The weekly planner shows one alert grouped by overloaded day. Each date appears once with every affected learner and that learner's time over capacity. When the visual setting is on, each affected day also has a coral warning outline and text badge. Choose Review workload to see capacity, learning time, routine/activity time, and every contributing item. Choose Dismiss all when the summarized workload is intentional. Each dismissal remains across devices while that exact workload is unchanged; a material change creates a fresh warning. The review page can show dismissed warnings individually and restore one.

One alert summarizes the affected dates instead of repeating separate notices.
Review the exact capacity and contributing work, then dismiss only the warning that is intentional.

Review a proposal

Choose Create proposal for a deterministic, no-write review of the selected week and following week. Only future flexible Planned lessons can move. Completed, skipped, in-progress, needs-help, ready-for-review, fixed, and protected learning work stays put. Calendar rules, deadlines, learner capacity, and course order are protected.

Use a last-resort option

Safe lesson moves always come first. If overload remains after every available move, the proposal offers up to two explicit alternatives. Reduce routine or activity time starts with the highest-time contribution and changes only the affected occurrence or Activity. It is disabled when those changes still cannot resolve every remaining overloaded day. Temporarily increase weekly capacity is the final temporary fallback and applies only to the listed learner and planner week; it does not change the learner's normal daily capacity. Choosing either available fallback keeps every safe lesson move selected.

When no safe lesson move can resolve the window, the proposal explains why and offers only the applicable temporary fallback.

Apply or undo

Clear any move you do not want when no fallback is selected, or choose one temporary fallback. Tasked With checks the complete plan again before saving the combined batch. Planner history offers Undo while every affected lesson, family item, and capacity override is still in the exact post-change state.
